GPS construction surveying with RTK system ppm10xx GNSS sensor

Handy, lightweight and even accurate to the centimeter directly on the house wall: the compact ppm10xx RTK system records satellite-based position data that can be integrated into any construction application software without any loss of accuracy.

Today, satellite-supported position data for GPS construction surveying using RTK systems forms the basis for every construction project. If exact data can be recorded easily and processed smoothly, this results in significant time savings and therefore a clear competitive advantage.

With its compact dimensions and low weight of 130 grams, the ppm10xx GNSS sensor is predestined for mobile use on construction sites. Despite its compact size, the sensor impresses with its high accuracy: while many current GPS receivers are often inaccurate or impossible to measure in the immediate vicinity of buildings, the ppm10xx RTK system usually delivers position data accurate to the centimeter even directly next to a house wall – even in unfavourable conditions, for example in dense buildings or in a pipe trench.

RTK system for building surveying uses many frequencies

The multi-frequency RTK receiver uses all GNSS systems (GPS, Glonass, Galileo and Beidou) with almost all frequencies and is therefore a future-proof investment. The sensor is combined with a helix antenna with a diameter of only 3.4 centimeters and a weight of only 20 grams. This offers clear advantages over classic GNSS smart antennas: Measurements are possible directly on the house wall because there is no large-diameter antenna in the way. As the antenna has virtually no weight, this surveying system is not top-heavy and is therefore very convenient to use.

The new RTK system is suitable for a wide range of applications. In combination with the Carlson Layout software for Android, the GPS receiver becomes a real “surveying professional” for the construction industry. Points or lines can be staked out intuitively from the graphic by simply tapping the relevant point and pressing “Stake out”. The switchable background map allows you to immediately check the accuracy of the results in the field.
